Mars/Venus

Mars must be a fucking warm planet, since men are always hot hot hot!
Our salon air conditoner is good. TOO GOOD. It turns the entire place into a meat locker in about 5 minutes. He just turned it on, and I complained. His solution was to move a color processor over my head. I rolled my eyes, but I have to say

It WORKS.

Parted Out

Canadian photographer Todd McLellan's latest series "Disassembly" captures relics of our past in a unique, dismantled and exposed form. Disassembled items include a typewriter, a push lawn mower and a rotary phon; each have had every part meticulously re-arranged - by type, size and function - on a beige surface in an almost OCD-like manner, resulting in a portrait of an era now left behind.

This Will Supposedly Be The Standard In The Next 5 Years...

I dont think Im ready.

“This is the future. Everything is going to look and feel like this within five years,” says creator Roel Vertegaal, the director of Queen’s University Human Media Lab,. “This computer looks, feels and operates like a small sheet of interactive paper. You interact with it by bending it into a cell phone, flipping the corner to turn pages, or writing on it with a pen.”

The smartphone prototype, called PaperPhone is best described as a flexible iPhone – it does everything a smartphone does, like store books, play music or make phone calls. But its display consists of a 9.5 cm diagonal thin film flexible E Ink display. The flexible form of the display makes it much more portable that any current mobile computer: it will shape with your pocket.

Johnathan Adler Lollipop Holder

Since I am now a desk monkey (at least till tomorrow when we begin to redo our floor, woot!), Im online more than ever, which I didnt think was possible.
We've been giving out lollipops to our clients kids when they come in and I think I just found the cutest lollipop holder on the planet! Everything in the salon has to pretty much black or white, so this is perfect. Thank you Johnathan Adler! He always has whimsy down pat, or as he calls it, "happy chic".

Something else amazing? His condom caddy! HELLO!
