“I’d rather live on my own than live with a face that looks at me with the wrong eyes.” ~Jane Birkin

The Obvious Child
"Sonny sits by his window and thinks to himself
How it's strange that some rooms are like cages
Sonny's yearbook from high school
Is down from the shelf
And he idly thumbs through the pages
Some have died
Some have fled from themselves
Or struggled from here to get there
Sonny wanders beyond his interior walls
Runs his hand through his thinning brown hair"

Sorry is the Kool-Aid of human emotions
"Sorry is the Kool-Aid of human emotions. It's what you say when you spill a cup of coffee or throw a gutterball
when you're bowling with the girls in the league. True sorrow is as rare as true love." ~Stephen King

Steve Jobs
RIP Steve Jobs. You gained the world and kept your soul. That's something.
You can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something: your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life." - Steve Jobs

I Get This.
"I've never not been grateful to be an actor," she says. "But I think when I was younger I needed [acting] more. I was trying to question things in life so you find these characters that help you find things and grow. I'm older and I know who I am… and I'm less interested in the character helping me answer something… than in being able to answer it for myself, as a woman, as an adult, with my family."—Angelina Jolie on why she doesn't love acting as much as she used to
I get this.
That being said, working on star wars has been so much fun, and ive got 2 episodes to go.
The stories are so great. And the director loves telling them.
He told us stories of how, when he got this job, that Lucas gave him a list of classic films to watch, and so many are shot by shot of star wars. One being Swiss family Robinson, which contained this scene:
which supposedly inspired this scene:
He also told a a story this last time that I really enjoyed. Back when they were doing season 2, there was a fight sequence, and Lucas was unhappy with the way it was written.
To show what he wanted, he sat there with the director of the cartoon show, and took scenes from Black Hawk Down, Battle Of The Bulge, Saving Private Ryan, etc, and cut them into what he was looking for. I just love that.

Warren Ellis
"Dance like you’re stamping on a human face forever, love like you’ve been in a serious car crash that minced the front of your brain, stab like no one can arrest you, and live like there’s no such thing as God."

Vonnegut.
[When Vonnegut tells his wife he’s going out to buy an envelope] Oh, she says, well, you’re not a poor man. You know, why don’t you go online and buy a hundred envelopes and put them in the closet? And so I pretend not to hear her. And go out to get an envelope because I’m going to have a hell of a good time in the process of buying one envelope. I meet a lot of people. And, see some great looking babes. And a fire engine goes by. And I give them the thumbs up. And, and ask a woman what kind of dog that is. And, and I don’t know. The moral of the story is, is we’re here on Earth to fart around. And, of course, the computers will do us out of that. And, what the computer people don’t realize, or they don’t care, is we’re dancing animals. You know, we love to move around. And, we’re not supposed to dance at all anymore.
Kurt Vonnegut

Quote Of The Day
David Simon on the Drug War:
David Simon: Oh, I would decriminalize drugs in a heartbeat. I would put all the interdiction money, all the incarceration money, all the enforcement money, all of the pretrial, all the prep, all of that cash, I would hurl it as fast as I could into drug treatment and job training and jobs programs. I would rather turn these neighborhoods inward with jobs programs. Even if it was the urban equivalent of FDR’s CCC—the Civilian Conservation Corps—if it was New Deal–type logic, it would be doing less damage than creating a war syndrome. The drug war is war on the underclass now. That’s all it is. It has no other meaning.

One Of The Best Sentences I Heard From Someone All Week:
"I was an hour late to an audition because I couldn't stop masturbating."

Vonnegut.
Like so many Americans, she was trying to construct a life that made sense from things she found in gift shops.
