So Into Sowden And Silver.
Phone at the salon is ringing off the hook today.
I shouldn't be complaining, but DAMN. This girl needs a break.
Thank god for friends, as one of my oldest, and dearest friends, Liz, has been helping me with some wedding stuff (lets just add one more thing to the pile). Yesterday, as I was trolling the internet for wedding venues, The Sowden House randomly sprung into my mind. I had long ago (before I was engaged, or even dating) thought of it as a potential wedding venue, but hadn't thought of it again as such, even though days before I had read a blurb on the recent sale of the house. Through some emails back and forth via Liz, I've got an appointment to go see it this Monday! Couldn't be more excited right now.
Not only have I always wanted to tour it, but also the prospect of getting married there certainly ups the ante.
Another couple got married here, and its hard to imagine a more photogenic venue.
During this jam packed day, I did mange to sneak away and get some color put in my hair. The first attempt was made last night, and didn't quite take. I want a silver streak in my hair, which I think comes from growing up in the 80s in LA, when local newscaster Colleen Williams was still rocking this mad streak. Not only did her hair never move, it was silver too like X-Mens Rogue??
Badass Colleen.
I'm not into your millennial gentrified self though. Go back to the silver girl.
My streak doesn't photograph that well, and I've already asked Steven for a bigger panel. I feel so wise.

The Next Hair Trend?
Since ombre hair is finally on its way out (I think we're going to look back on photos of that and wonder what we were thinking), there's room for a new hair trend. It looks like it's going to be set by Lauren Conrad yet again, who is partially responsible for making ombre popular to begin with. I've never been particularly impressed with her, I find her to be the most generic girl, with the most generic taste on the planet. But I get it. Millions of girls need someone in fashion to aspire to whos non threatening, and who they can actually look like, with the right hair, and enough properly styled Forever 21. There was a void, and she filled it.
Conrad recently debuted a sneak peak of this new, My Little Pony-esque hair, and I have to say, It's pretty fun, especially for summer. Looking forward to seeing this full on, although something tells me I'm going to be seeing so much of this in the coming months I'll be longing for the days of ombre.

"Nothing Exceeds Like Excess"
I've been growing out my bangs FOREVER. Not because I dont like bangs, but because my hair is so thin, I felt I needed all the hair on my head I could possibly get.
Which is not to say that I dont still feel that way, but I've been losing A LOT less hair ever since I started taking Viviscal two months ago. Im bored as hell of my hair right now, and I'm really really tempted to get some bangs a la Michelle Pfeiffer in Scarface.
I mean, it's just SO GOOD. I however do not have the hair texture that goes with this style, and the question is always what to do with my bangs when they're not blow dried to perfection. I probably should sit on this for a week, but I have a tendency to fixate on things I want, so I may have bangs by the end of the day. Way too easy access, sitting in a salon all day.

Barely There Hair
My hair falls out.
All the time.
When I first told my hairdresser boyfriend this, he constantly rolled his eyes and repeated that "everyone loses 100 hairs a day", knowing how dramatic I can be.
However, it wasn't long before he was saying how he cant believe I'm not bald. We find my hair in EVERYTHING, and its become a running gag.
My whole life, Ive gone through phases of losing a lot of hair, but in the past few years its been less of a phase and more of a way of life. I have an under active thyroid, and its very possibly due to that, but hair loss is a symptom of so many things, it could be anything. Add to that the fact that my hair is curly, and it makes it almost impossible to grow.
I started taking Biotin a few months ago, and it does work, but I want more.
Enter Viviscal.
I first read about it in Vogue. Its a 100% natural Finish dietary supplement made from fish proteins that ramp up the body's production of keratin. After some more research, it sounded like a miracle pill. I ripped out the article and put it on my fridge, and its been hanging out there, collecting stains for a couple months. Then a few days ago I got a keratin treatment (also known as a Brazilian Blowout), and, while my hair looks shinier and thicker, it also makes damage more visible, and I need a haircut. I cut it often, but I never feel like I have any inches to spare, and I haven't been able to get much length on it in the past year. My hair is also a lot straighter, which is a nice change, but also highlights how little hair I have.
After some more research, it sounds like a miracle pill.
Here's hoping, as I just has a "moment" and ordered a two month supply on Amazon.
Should take a couple months to see results, but I'll be sure to update!

Magic Castle
Steven and I took six of his clients, and my parents to the Magic Castle last night. This year I started drinking only on special occasions, and all I have to say is I woke up this morning craving a corn dog and tacos, so you know how much fun I had last night.
Steven loves loves loves the castle, which makes it amazing that this was our first time going together. Its harder for him to get me to go, because I practically grew up there, having a father who has performed there for 30 years.
I could write a long long post about it right now, but all I really wanted was to share some pictures, because I think we're damn cute. Steven's boss did my hair in finger waves, and I never feel prettier (or get as many compliments), than when its styled like this. I absolutely lived in the 20's in a past life, and this hair just feels like "me".
